In The MEANtime began as an a5 copied fanzine four to five years ago inspired by the great Pee Zine. Containing interviews, reviews and news featuring some of our greatest local extreme bands and many international acts, the death of In The MEANtime Zine came very prematurely just after five issues. The fifth and last issue featured interviews with As I Lay Dying, Imperial, Please Mr Gravedigger, Exit Wounds and more and was the first issue of In The MEANtime to be professionally printed and with a hardboard colour cover... Anyway, to cut an extremely short story all the much shorter, the death of In The MEANtime Zine has now made way for the beginning of In The MEANtime Records, the most recent addition to the vast and growing number of national indie record labels. Awesome Brisbane band Say Nothing was the first band to join the label with plans for a split release with Melbourne's Chase Manhattan early this year. Melbourne melodic punk-hardcore outfit MDK became the second band on the extremely new In The MEANtime Records roster, also preparing for their debut EP release. More recently Bendigo thrash metallers Heavenslost and local screamcore outfit Chase Manhattan have both joined the label roster.
